The chair of the Trading Board provides leadership and governance oversight for Midlands Arts Centre Trading Ltd (MAC Trading), ensuring that commercial activities generate sustainable income, enhance visitor experience and support the long-term success of the charity.
As the principal link between the Trading Board and Charity Board, the chair will play a vital role in ensuring strong alignment between commercial performance, organisational values and MAC’s wider strategic priorities.
Deborah Kermode, chief executive & artistic director, said: “MAC’s trading activity plays a fundamental role in supporting our charitable mission, helping us to create sustainable income that can be reinvested into our artistic and community work.
“We are looking for a Chair who can bring strategic judgement, commercial insight and strong governance experience to help us maximise this opportunity.
“The role is about more than overseeing a trading subsidiary. It is about helping to connect commercial ambition with public benefit, ensuring that our visitor experience continues to thrive while supporting MAC’s long-term financial resilience.”
MAC said it welcomes applications from individuals with experience in one or more of the following areas:
Trustee - Communitities Against Racism Enterprise (CARE)
Principal Solicitor - Riley Hayes & Co Solicitors
