A long-standing local employer, Midland Eye Clinic has delivered high-quality ophthalmic care to NHS and private patients for more than 20 years, earning a strong reputation for clinical excellence, patient focus and community commitment. The new Olton clinic represents a major investment in local healthcare infrastructure and reflects growing demand for accessible specialist eye services.

The expansion is primarily focused on supporting NHS patients, while also significantly enhancing care pathways for patients suffering from Dry Eye disease, a condition that affects a growing proportion of the population.

In addition to increasing clinical capacity, the new clinic will create new employment opportunities across clinical, administrative and support roles, further strengthening Midland Eye’s contribution to the local economy.

Commenting on the announcement, Lawrence Willis, Chief Executive Officer of Midland Eye, said: “This expansion is an important step for Midland Eye Clinic and, above all, for the people of Solihull and the wider Midlands. For over 20 years we have cared for both NHS and private patients, delivering treatments from Cataract surgery to Laser eye and specialist eye care. This investment underlines our long-term commitment to the area, allowing us to support more NHS patients, expand our Dry Eye services and maintain the high standards of care we are known for, while also creating new local employment opportunities.”

The new Virginia House clinic will complement Midland Eye Clinics existing services, ensuring patients benefit from improved access and modern facilities, all delivered by experienced consultant ophthalmologists and clinical teams.

Further details on opening dates and services will be announced in due course.
