National accountancy and advisory firm MHA has appointed an experienced corporate tax specialist as a partner in Birmingham to support its growth across the Midlands.
With 17 years’ experience in professional practice, including 12 years dedicated to tax, Lydia Williams joins MHA from professional services firm S&W Group (formerly Evelyn Partners), where she was Corporate Tax Director.
An ICAS Chartered Accountant, Lydia joins 9 other partners across the Midlands and will also support the firm’s London-based clients.
Her role will involve advising businesses on corporate tax, tax risk, tax accounting and wider strategic tax matters. Lydia has expertise across a wide range of sectors and will help clients manage risk while supporting their continued growth.
Chris Barlow, Partner and Chief Operating Officer of MHA's Midlands region, said: “Lydia has earned a strong reputation as a highly trusted adviser to complex businesses. She combines technical excellence with a practical understanding of her clients’ commercial objectives.
“Working with large corporates, owner-managed businesses and private equity-backed groups, her commercially focused advice will support growth and strategic decision-making. Her experience and expertise will add great value to our Birmingham team.”
Lydia said: “Joining MHA is a hugely exciting step in my career. I look forward to helping our clients navigate an evolving tax landscape with confidence, by turning complex issues into clear and actionable advice.
“MHA’s ambition for growth through its commitment to building long-term client relationships really stood out to me, while the firm’s collaborative approach strongly aligns with my own way of working.”
Earlier this year, MHA, the UK member firm of Baker Tilly International, relocated to a new office in the heart of Birmingham’s professional district as part of its ambition for continued growth across the Midlands. The firm now has more than 75 staff based in Birmingham.
