To mark the occasion, easyJet surprised two lucky travellers at Birmingham Airport, Cathy Stacey and Fouad Wardi who were flying to Marrakesh, with a pair of return flights to anywhere on the carrier’s network.
easyJet began operations at Birmingham Airport in 2007, flying its first customers from Birmingham to Geneva.
In 2024, easyJet launched a base at Birmingham Airport. It has since tripled the number of destinations on its network - now offering 45 routes across Europe and North Africa.
This summer, the airline has also welcomed a sixth aircraft to the base, enabling the airline to offer customers in the Midlands even more choice for flights and holidays across Europe and North Africa, including a new route and package holidays to Copenhagen in Denmark.
Kevin Doyle, easyJet's UK country manager, said: “This is a fantastic milestone for easyJet as we celebrate carrying over ten million passengers from Birmingham Airport, where we continue going from strength to strength.
“We have more than tripled the size of our network at Birmingham in the past two years and doubled the number of aircraft we base at the airport, supporting jobs and connectivity for the region.
“We focused on offering great value fares and more choice for our customers in the Midlands, and we can’t wait to welcome even more passengers onboard for what will be our biggest ever summer in Birmingham.”
Matt Hazelwood, chief commercial officer of Birmingham Airport, said: “We’re delighted to celebrate easyJet’s 10 millionth passenger at Birmingham Airport.
“Since launching services here in 2007, easyJet has steadily grown its operation and is now oneof our major airline partners. We look forward to welcoming even more easyJet customers in the years ahead.”
