Law firm Shakespeare Martineau has advised Stena Line-owned property firm Anglesey Land Holdings on its successful outline planning application for Prosperity Parc – a £1bn regeneration project set to transform the former Anglesey Aluminium site in Holyhead into a world-class hub for technology, innovation and green infrastructure.

The landmark scheme – recently approved by Anglesey County Council – will breathe new life into the 217-acre brownfield site, anchored by a 2.5m sq ft data centre with access to pan-Atlantic fibre optic connections and strong grid infrastructure.

Alongside this, the plans include 108,000 sq ft of office space, 54,000 sq ft of research and development facilities, a 349MW-capacity battery energy storage system, and up to 128 acres of landscaped green space centred around a new park.

Shakespeare Martineau’s legal planning team provided strategic support throughout the application process.

Forecast to generate up to £578m a year in economic output, Prosperity Parc could create 1,200 permanent jobs and a further 890 during the construction phase.

As part of the Anglesey Freeport, the development will also deliver taxation and customs benefits to resident firms – driving long-term regeneration and growth across North Wales.

With outline permission now secured, detailed designs covering layout, appearance, access and landscaping will be brought forward as part of the full planning application process.
