TLT Solicitors has announced record annual financial results for 2024/2025, with revenue rising to £187m, adding over £75million of revenue in the last four years.
The growth reflects the success of TLT’s progressive strategy, which includes significant investment in regional expansion including in Birmingham.
Since opening in 2023, TLT has more than doubled the size of its Birmingham office and now has 50 colleagues, including 12 partners working across the firm’s key sectors and service lines.
In the last financial year, TLT welcomed a wave of senior hires including four new partners.
These have included four new partners including Roy Grist (Banking), Charlie Rae (Employment), Jacob Cork (Private Wealth) and Lorna Tipple (Family Law), alongside legal directors Rebekah Finch (Commercial Dispute Resolution), Amanda Wootton and Julie Peel (Financial Services Disputes Investigations), Leanne Fryer (Corporate) and Claire Gamage (Commercial).
The firm also welcomed its first graduate solicitors apprentice (GSA) in Birmingham in July 2024.
TLT’s growth in Birmingham has been underpinned by a pipeline of high-profile client mandates, including advising Birmingham City Council on the landmark Ladywood Estate Regeneration Project, and acting for TOCA Social in connection with its Europe-wide joint-venture with URW to collaborate on the opening of the new TOCA social venues in Westfield shopping centres, settling a claim for Kieron Dyer against British newspaper group MGN Limited in relation to voicemail interception and the misuse of private information, and advising Swedish infrastructure technology group Sdiptech on its acquisition of Phase 3 Connectors Ltd– a privately owned British manufacturer of industrial power plugs and devices.
After being named one of the most innovative law firms in Europe by the Financial Times, TLT has onboarded the latest integrated technologies across its national network – with Birmingham playing a key role in the transformation.
Central to this has been the introduction of Legora, the collaborative AI platform for lawyers, which has streamlined complex processes and enhanced efficiency for both clients and the firm.
Spearheaded by TLT’s award-winning FutureLaw team, Legora is being rolled out to multiple teams across the firm, with a bespoke training and adoption programme.
TLT’s pioneering people strategy is embedded in the Birmingham office and has been key to its success, driving inclusivity, diversity, and wellbeing.
Recent initiatives have included a target for 50 per cent female partners by 2029, becoming Founding Partners of Family Friendly Workplaces and partnering with Women’s Health Charity ‘Wellbeing of Women’ and the introduction of a neurodiversity support package.
This commitment was recognised with TLT being named a Top 50 Employer for Gender Equality by The Times for the third consecutive year.
TLT’s Birmingham office has played a key part in driving the firm’s national sustainability strategy, which includes securing a B score from CDP for actions taken to tackle climate change, having its net-zero targets approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and achieving an 88 per cent reduction in scope 1 and 2 emissions six years ahead of target.
Mark Elder, Partner and Head of Location in Birmingham said: “TLT’s performance in Birmingham in the last year has been nothing short of exceptional.
“We’ve built a strong and talented team, enhanced relationships with clients across the city, and contributed to the firm’s record-breaking financial results.
“The energy and ambition in Birmingham mirror the city’s own momentum, and we’re proud to be part of that growth story.”
