The campaign launched on Crowdcube aims to support the continued growth of Tweedy and Fluff, the BAFTA-nominated series created by West Midlands author and screenwriter Corrinne Averiss and directed by Birmingham filmmaker Chris Randall of Second Home Studios.

The campaign will help raise funds towards a second series, develop new content, expand licensing and consumer products, and create more ways for fans of all ages to experience the world of Tweedy & Fluff beyond the screen.

The brand began life as a handcrafted stop-motion series produced in Birmingham by Second Home Studios alongside Stitchy Feet Ltd.

Since then, it has grown from a regional creative project into an internationally distributed character IP, broadcast in the UK and Ireland on Channel 5’s Milkshake!, BBC Alba, S4C and TG4, and sold into 70 territories through MIAM! Distribution.

Tweedy & Fluff has also built a strong online following, with over 750,000 followers more than 200 million views across social platforms and Giphy, and engagement reported at twice the industry average.

The response from fans has extended beyond viewing, with fan art, fan tattoos, homemade plush and strong demand for the brand’s first collectable product drop, selling out fast.

The business is now aiming to build on that momentum by expanding Tweedy & Fluff into new content, licensing, consumer products and fan experiences. A first plush product is already in development with Rainbow Designs for 2026 pre-order.

The series has received nominations from BAFTA, the Broadcast Awards, the British Animation Awards and the Rockies, and has won the Japan Prize Award of Honour, the Voice of the Listener and Viewer Award, and Royal Television Society Midlands awards.

Chris Randall, co-founder of Tweedy & Fluff Ltd and founder of Second Home Studios, said: “Series 1 of Tweedy & Fluff was produced here in Birmingham, by a small team with a huge amount of care and craft.

“What has been exciting to see is how far that world has travelled, not only through broadcast, but through the emotional connection people have formed with the characters online.

“This Crowdcube campaign is about the next stage of that journey. We want to build on the momentum the brand already has, create more content, develop products that fans are asking for, and grow Tweedy & Fluff as a character brand with roots in the West Midlands and an audience around the world.”

Corrinne Averiss, creator and co-founder of Tweedy & Fluff Ltd, said: “Tweedy & Fluff is about care, affection and the small daily moments that connect us.

“It has been wonderful to see people of all ages respond to that, from young children watching the series to adults sharing the characters online and wanting them in their lives.

“The investment campaign gives people who love Tweedy & Fluff the chance to become part of the brand as we work towards the next stage of its growth.”
