The volunteering initiative is organised by United By 2022 in partnership with the Lawn Tennis Association (LTA), giving local volunteers the chance to be right at the heart of one of the city’s premier sporting moments.

The tournament will take place at the Edgbaston Priory Club from 30 May to 7 June.

Volunteers will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the Lexus Birmingham Open by providing safe, friendly transport for players, coaches, officials, VIPs, and other accredited personnel.

Thet will be a key point of contact for some of the event’s most important guests, helping them move between venues and hotels with ease and professionalism.

It is also a chance to meet new people, boost event experience, support local community, and be part of a team delivering a world-class sporting experience in Birmingham.

To be eligible, volunteers should a hold a full, clean UK driving licence, be 25 years or older to meet insurance requirements and be a UK resident with the right to work.

All volunteers will receive training in tournament transport processes and operate both scheduled journeys and ad-hoc transport throughout the event.

To apply, sign up to the Volunteers Collective portal - United By 2022’s hub for event volunteering across the West Midlands - and then express your interest in the volunteer driver role for the Lexus Birmingham Open.

The Volunteers Collective has connected thousands of people with memorable roles at events throughout the region, each contributing to the vibrant culture and community engagement that makes Birmingham such a great place to live and work.

Jess McCallister, head of communications & partnerships at United By 2022, said: “Volunteers are essential to delivering brilliant events like the Lexus Birmingham Open - from welcoming visitors to keeping things running smoothly.

“This is your chance to be part of something special, support world-class sport in our city, and make unforgettable memories along the way.”

The deadline to apply is 8 February.
