Unit4 is backed by institutional shareholders TA Associates and Partners Group. The acquisition supports its growth strategy and strengthens its offering across key sectors including professional and business services, public services, non-profit and education.
The deal will also support Napta’s ambitions for further growth, combining increased investment in its product roadmap with Unit4’s global reach.
The Freeths team was led by partner Francis Dalton, supported by senior associates Mia Broomhall and Hannah Hogarth, and trainee solicitor Alice Smith. Freeths worked alongside French law firm Moncey Avocats, led by Frederic Pinet.
Francis Dalton said: “It was a pleasure to support Unit4 on this strategic acquisition.
“The transaction reflects the increasingly international nature of our work and our experience supporting investors and businesses on cross-border transactions in the technology and software sector.
“We look forward to building on our relationship with Unit4.”
Jonathan Ridley-Holloway, head of M&A at Unit4, added: “This was our first transaction working with Freeths, and we were very impressed by the team’s adaptive and solutions-focused approach.
“Working alongside the excellent team at Moncey, they provided clear, commercial and timely advice that was fundamental to closing the transaction.”
