The staff from Fisher German’s Worcester, Hereford and Birmingham offices took on the challenge to trek across the Malvern Hills End-to End Walk.
The team covered 9.3 miles, conquered 17 summits and climbed the equivalent of 253 floors in aid of the charity, which supports babies, children and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions across the Three Counties and West Midlands.
Acorns Children’s Hospice provides specialist palliative care for babies, children and young people, including clinically supported stays, pain and symptom management and end-of-life care, through its hospices in Worcester, Birmingham and Walsall, as well as community nursing in local communities and family homes.
The charity supports more than 800 children and 1,100 families each year. It currently costs £14 million annually to provide its vital services.
Starting at Chase End and finishing at North Hill, the Fisher German team completed the 9.3-mile ridge walk, including 17 summits and climbing the equivalent of 253 floors, with a stop at British Camp for lunch along the way.
Most colleagues completed the full route while others joined for sections, and Will Kerton, Jack Tyler and George Shakespeare even ran the first part to the Wych Cutting before continuing walking with the group.
Among those taking part in the walk were Rhiannon Barton, Greg Collings, Sarah Maeers, Dan Ballard, Helen Harris, Jack Tyler, Joe Senior, Laila Butterworth, Lori Varley, Michelle Knowles, Olivia Duncan, Sarah Hollis, Stephen Holloway, Rory Garside, Will Kerton, Yan Gittins, George Shakespeare, James Harrop Griffiths, Ollie Bullock and Liv Campbell-Kerr.
The fundraising effort builds on Fisher German’s ongoing relationship with Acorns Children’s Hospice, following the firm's ambitious ‘Big 25’ charity challenge last year, which saw colleagues travel between all 25 offices using only non-motorised transport which raised more than £55,000 for charities.
Rhiannon Barton, marketing manager at Fisher German, who organised the event, said: “It was lovely to spend time with colleagues away from our desks and do something positive for a charity we supported as part of our leg of the Big 25 challenge in 2025.
“It’s important to us to keep that relationship going and continue supporting the incredible work Acorns Children’s Hospice does in the local area.”
