This year’s guest of honour will feature England rugby legend Dan Cole.

The Jewellery Quarter-based company is inviting festive merrymakers to join them at the Macdonald Burlington Hotel on Wednesday 10 December for an afternoon of world-class hospitality, festive fun, and rugby brilliance.

Joining Dan Cole will be fellow Leicester Tigers great Tim Stimpson as Master of Ceremonies, and award-winning comedian Andrew Bird.

As Eventmasters marks its 40th anniversary, this year’s Midlands Sporting Luncheon carries particular significance.

The Midlands Sporting Luncheon (MSL) boasts a rich and cherished history.

Founded by Greville Edwards, a stalwart of Moseley Rugby Club, it is still affectionately known as “Greville’s do” in his honour following his passing in 2012.

For the Birmingham business celebrating 40 years, reaching this milestone alongside the MSL makes the occasion all the more meaningful.

One of the most respected forwards in world rugby, Guest of honour Dan Cole is England’s second most-capped player of all time.

His illustrious career includes appearances in four Rugby World Cups and three Six Nations-winning sides, including the 2016 Grand Slam.

At club level, Dan has been a cornerstone of Leicester Tigers, helping the side to multiple Premiership titles. Off the field, he co-hosts the hit podcast For the Love of Rugby with teammate Ben Youngs.

Mark Sheasby from Eventmasters said: “The 35th Midland Sporting Luncheon will be another great event.

“Delighted that Dan is joining us this year – a stellar 19-year career, Tigers, England and the Lions, I can’t wait to hear the stories he will have to tell.

“Stimmo, our resident MC, has become very accomplished. With him being a rugby man and ex-Tigers to boot, it should be great insight and lots of fun.”

The Midlands Sporting Luncheon raises funds for Prostate Cancer UK, through a mix of live and silent auctions and the ever-popular Heads & Tails game.

Last year’s event raised an incredible £9,750, and this year Eventmasters hope to surpass that total, making the 35th annual Luncheon the most successful fundraiser yet.
