Andy has led the Corporate Finance team for more than a decade, overseeing its transformation from a small team based in CP’s Sky View office into the national sector-led corporate finance platform it is today operating across multiple offices through the UK.
During his leadership, the business has significantly expanded its scale, sector expertise and market presence, helping establish Cooper Parry as a leading adviser to ambitious businesses and shareholders navigating important strategic transactions.
Andy will remain closely involved with clients, transactions and the continued development of the team, while continuing to lead Cooper Parry's health and social care sector activity.
Andy will work closely with Adam as he takes on the leadership role, providing continuity and support while remaining a highly visible and influential figure within the business.
James Parnell, managing director of Cooper Parry Advisory said: "Andy has played a huge role in shaping the Corporate Finance business we have today.
“Over the past 11 years he has built an exceptional team, strengthened our reputation in the market, and helped position Cooper Parry as a leading adviser to ambitious businesses across the UK.
"As we look ahead, Adam is the right person to lead the next chapter. He brings a strong track record, deep sector expertise and a highly commercial approach that aligns perfectly with the way we work.
“Since joining Cooper Parry through the Hutcheon Mearns acquisition, he has quickly become an important member of our leadership team and a trusted adviser to clients.
"This appointment reflects the strength and depth of talent within our business. With Adam leading the team and Andy continuing to play a key role, we're exceptionally well placed to accelerate our growth ambitions and further strengthen our Corporate Finance offering."
Adam brings significant dealmaking experience, particularly within the energy and industrials sector, and has rapidly established himself as a trusted adviser to clients and colleagues across the firm.
He founded the deals offering at Hutcheon Mearns based in Aberdeen, Scotland in 2017, driven by the belief that mid-market M&A deserved a more entrepreneurial and commercially focused advisory proposition, giving founder-led and investor-backed businesses greater access to senior-level expertise.
Adam has spent more than 19 years advising entrepreneurs, management teams and investors on complex transactions across the UK and internationally.
While recognised as Scottish Dealmaker of the Year in 2025, his experience spans transactions involving counterparties across North America, South America, the Middle East, Asia-Pacific and Europe, reflecting the increasingly international nature of the mid-market.
Adam will lead the national Corporate Finance team, working across the firm's 13 locations throughout the UK.
Adam said: “Mid-market M&A has become too focused on getting deals done. The reality is that most business owners need far more than that.
“They need advisers who understand their ambitions, challenge their thinking when necessary, and support them long before and long after any transaction takes place.
"That belief was at the heart of building Hutcheon Mearns Corporate Finance, and it's one of the key reasons we chose to partner with Cooper Parry. The firm has a genuinely entrepreneurial culture and a willingness to do what's right for clients rather than forcing problems into service lines or operating silos.
"We have a fantastic opportunity to build something different in the market. Corporate Finance should sit at the centre of helping ambitious businesses grow, invest, acquire and create value. That's a far bigger opportunity than simply advising on transactions, and it's what excites me most about leading the business into its next chapter."
