Created through a partnership between Living Well Consortium, Birmingham Mind and Evolve, ‘grounded.’ provides welcoming, non-clinical spaces where people can connect, access wellbeing activities.

They can also receive signposting and referrals to therapeutic support, and access evening mental health support through Birmingham Mind’s Talking Spaces service.

Since opening its first site in Selly Oak in July 2023, ‘grounded.’ has grown to three Birmingham locations in Selly Oak, Hall Green and St Pauls.

Across the reporting period, ‘grounded.’ has supported 1,866 walk-in appointments, 1,442 clinical referrals and almost 30,000 café customers.

It has also delivered 439 wellbeing workshops, attended by 2,367 people.

The report demonstrates how ‘grounded.’ brings together mental health support, community connection, wellbeing, skills and employment pathways in accessible everyday settings.

Its partnership model combines clinical expertise, community insight and social value, with a focus on early intervention and prevention.

Alex Jordan, area manager at Living Well Consortium, said: “grounded. started with a simple idea: that mental health support should feel accessible, welcoming and human.

“This report gives us the opportunity to reflect on what has been achieved across our three Birmingham sites and, most importantly, the people and communities behind those numbers.”

The report also highlights how local businesses can help support community wellbeing.

By investing in ‘grounded.’, businesses can help reduce loneliness, encourage earlier help-seeking, build confidence and resilience, and strengthen community connections.

‘grounded.’ is inviting businesses to support its next stage of growth through partnership, sponsorship and employee wellbeing opportunities.
