The events group has unveiled a programme of events for 2026 in collaboration with Birmingham Botanical Gardens, continuing a shared commitment to creating joyful, thoughtful and nature-connected experiences for families through the Noticing Nature programme.

Building on a successful partnership that began in 2024, the collaboration will see OPUS delivering a series of seasonal events across the year, each offering a fresh way for families to slow down, look closer and experience the Gardens through play, imagination and wellbeing.

Further details of the full year’s programme will be announced in due course but will include magic events in May, Circus activities in August and Autumn fun in October.

The first event in the 2026 series, Sky Garden, opens this Easter and offers a gentle, reflective invitation to look up.

Running now until Sunday 12 April, and open daily throughout the Easter holidays, Sky Garden transforms the Gardens into a place of cloud-spotting, listening and shared moments under the sky.

Designed as a soft opening to the year, the experience encourages intergenerational families to rest, wonder and reconnect with the natural world above them.

At the heart of Sky Garden is Cloudscapes, a mindful audio experience by Outdoor artist Lorna Rees, presented by her company Gobbledegook Theatre – blending fascinating facts about the sky with personal reflection and the simple joy of watching clouds drift by.

Sara Blair-Manning, from Birmingham Botanical Gardens, said: “Our family programming is a vital part of how we welcome a diverse range of people into the Gardens, and our partnership with OPUS has played a key role in that over the past year.

“Together we’ve delivered a range of impactful events that have been met with consistently high satisfaction from audiences, encouraging families to spend time together outdoors and experience the Gardens in new and meaningful ways.”

Caroline Davis, managing director of OPUS, added: “Noticing Nature is about creating space - space to slow down, to play, to notice and to reconnect.

“Our collaboration with Birmingham Botanical Gardens allows us to do this at scale, in a place that already holds so much beauty and calm.”

Ticket information for Sky Garden can be found through the website.
