During the ‘Road to China – Strategies for Building Effective Relationships with China’ seminar on June 25th at the Aston Business School, the discussion groups identified cultural understanding as a key factor in developing long term business relationships between China and the UK.  China West Midlands (CWM) 2020, which was launched in November 2017, aims to strengthen connections through a range of arts, cultural, education, sports and business events throughout the year in 2020.

Ian Ward, the Leader of Birmingham City Council, on working with the Chinese community to promote trade and investment with China
Christopher Kettle, Chair of Stratford-on-Avon District Council, on Stratford's growing relationship with China
Di Xiao, world class pianist in the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, on her plans for a summer Chinese Festival
Frances Yeung, cross culture community artist, on bridging the cultural gaps between East and West
Stephan Meier, Artistic Director of Birmingham Contemporary Music Group, will provide an update on the results of the 10th China ConTempo Composition Competition
