The Holiday Club provides children with nutritious hot meals, high‑quality activities, and a safe, supportive environment every day for over 60 local children who need it most.
Their aim is to ensure school breaks are a time of opportunity and joy.
The cost of running the full week of Holiday Club is £7,500. The cost of covering a child for a week is £125.
It comes during a time where over 40 per cent of children in Birmingham live in poverty.
The charity said in a statement: “For these children, this means that school holidays do not come with rest and play, but they come with hunger, boredom, and isolation.
“For their parents it comes with an increase in financial anxiety, and a decrease in income, due to needing to take time out of zero-hour contracts to look after children.”
Speaking about the Holiday Club, Ahmed, aged 8, said: “Oasis Club is a really nice place, we can have fun, and there’s lots of people who care for each other and we get to make lots of things.”
Businesses interested in visiting, volunteering, or learning more about the charity can email local fundraiser Chiara Luxmoore.
