The campaign, named as Inside Out, is led by Global Healthcare Projects (GHP) a NFP organisation with 20 years’+ experience in disease prevention and public health advocacy.
It is built on growing scientific evidence that digestive and gut health underpin overall wellbeing, influencing physical health, mental resilience and longterm disease prevention.
At the heart of the festival is a 40 foot interactive walkthrough gut exhibit, complemented by expert talks, workshops and practical demonstrations.
Delivered in a prominent public space rather than clinical settings, GHP will work with Birmingham Public Health Team supporting local priorities and reaching communities that often don’t routinely engage with traditional healthcare services.
The London launch held last year demonstrated significant impact, engaging thousands of participants, strengthening partnerships across public health, VCSE’s, social prescribing networks generating widespread public interest.
Crucially, the model emphasises co creation with local communities ensuring relevance, trust and lasting behavioural change.
For Birmingham, this presents an opportunity to support inclusive economic and social development, improving health literacy, reducing long term pressure on public services, and fostering collaborations between employers, community organisations and policy makers.
