The class of 2025 has achieved the college’s best ever results, building on the sixth form’s impressive and growing track record of academic excellence and high pass rates since joining The Sandwell Colleges. With new capital builds and facilities, the learning environment is designed exclusively for sixth form study, where every learner benefits from expert teaching, excellent support and high-quality enrichment opportunities, trips and visits. It is further enhanced by its Aiming High programme, developed in partnership with local and Russel group universities, which help to prepare students for securing university places.
The college achieved well over national rates for A Level subjects and its best pass rate to date, with many students set to take up their place at university.
Excellent results were also secured for students studying new T Level courses and who have now completed their course. These two-year qualifications focus on academic and technical skills and provide an opportunity for learners to gain hands-on experience, while immersing themselves in industry via placement opportunities to experience the world of work. Students leave college with a range of skills to meet the demands of local employers.
Specialist facilities and teaching and industry-ready experiences provide students with an authentic work experience, allowing them to combine an academic and practical approach to learning new skills. The College has powerful partnerships with local, regional and national organisations and employers to provide a wide range of opportunities.
Alongside many university acceptances, the results achieved today will enable students to embark on a range of opportunities as they progress into good jobs and begin their careers, move onto higher education, or a degree apprenticeship.
A Level Student Summer Clark achieved an A in English Literature, A in Biology and an A in History. She said:
"I’m thrilled with my results from Cadbury Sixth Form College and so excited to be heading to the University of Oxford to study History. All the hard work has been worth it, and I’m so grateful to my teachers for their support along the way."
Hannah Coats studied BTEC Diploma in Applied Science and Sports Coaching and Development. She commented:
"I’m so excited and really pleased with my Diploma results, although it’s been a little nerve-wracking. I was predicted four Distinction Stars, so I’m over the moon to have achieved them. I have worked really hard and I’m now one step closer to becoming a physiotherapist. My next stop is the University of Birmingham.”
Another student who had studied an A level STEM subject also spoke. He said: “Our trip to CERN to see the Hadron Collider was unforgettable and made a real difference to our understanding of our subject.”
Lydia Maher, Campus Principal of Cadbury College, said: “Students receiving their results today should be incredibly proud of their achievements. Whichever path they choose to follow - whether it’s university, degree-apprenticeships or straight into industry – I’ve no doubt that they have a bright and exciting future ahead of them”.
Lisa Capper MBE, Principal and CEO of The Sandwell Colleges, said:
“These results reflect the hard work and commitment of our learners and our teaching teams. Their achievements today, coupled with the essential skills and enrichment experiences they have had at our colleges, will open a wide range of opportunities for them to progress in their chosen career.
“At The Sandwell Colleges, our courses are designed in collaboration with employers and industry experts, empowering students with the practical skills and knowledge needed for the future.
