The Jam House Birmingham has announced the retirement of general manager, John Bunce, who has been at the helm since 2004.
Under his guidance, The Jam House has grown into one of Birmingham’s most iconic live music venues, hosting thousands of performances and becoming a beloved destination for artistes and audiences alike.
“John has been the heart and soul of The Jam House,” said a spokesperson for the venue.
“His passion, professionalism, and vision have shaped the venue’s identity and success. We are deeply grateful for his years of service and wish him all the best in his well-earned retirement.”
Stepping into the role of general manager is Paul Roberts, who has served as deputy general manager for the past 14 years.
Paul brings a wealth of experience, deep knowledge of the venue, and a shared commitment to its values and future.
“I’m honoured to take on this role and continue the legacy that John has built,” said Paul.
“The Jam House is a special place, and I look forward to leading it into its next chapter with the same spirit of creativity and community.”
The Jam House will be celebrating John’s retirement with a special event later this autumn, inviting friends, colleagues, and patrons to honour his remarkable career.
Paul kicks off his tenure with a dynamic trio of show announcements, featuring American hip-hop trailblazers Arrested Development, boundary-pushing Jazz from The Necks, and viral retro sensation The Vintage Explosion.
