November’s highlights include A Shameless Night: An Evening with the Cast of Shameless, British country duo The Shires, The Amy Winehouse Band and jazz celebration Coltrane 100: Both Directions at Once, marking the centenary of the birth of saxophonist John Coltrane.

December will see The Overtones and Joss Stone take to the stages, while audiences can welcome the festive season with a range of special performances. January’s programme includes the return of Magic of Motown and The Classic Rock Show, celebrating 30 years of classic rock music.

Dance fans can get into the Christmas spirit with Xmas on the Dancefloor, arriving at Symphony Hall on 21 December.

Featuring Strictly Come Dancing favourite Gorka Márquez alongside a cast of dancers, singers and the Xmas Dolls, the production combines high-energy choreography, powerful vocals and festive hits. The soundtrack spans artists including Mariah Carey, Slade, the Spice Girls, Whitney Houston, Elton John and Michael Bublé.

Comedy will also feature prominently throughout the season, with a line-up of established and emerging stand-up performers appearing at Town Hall and Symphony Hall.

Thomas Green performs on 14 November, followed by Dylan Moran with Looking for Trouble on 17 November. Fin Taylor brings The Pre-emptive Comeback Special to the stage on 26 November, with Josh Pugh performing Ha Ha, Yeah Sound on 29 November.

On 21 December, Comedy Crackers will bring together five comedians for a festive evening featuring Tom Davis and Suzi Ruffell.

The programme also welcomes Tony Hadley to Symphony Hall on 19 November for The Christmas Big Band Tour. The former Spandau Ballet frontman will perform songs associated with swing and crooning legends including Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett and Elvis Presley, bringing his distinctive vocals and showmanship to a festive big-band performance.

Jazz takes the spotlight on 6 November with Coltrane 100: Both Directions at Once. An all-star group of musicians will celebrate John Coltrane’s enduring influence through interpretations of his classic repertoire and original compositions inspired by his musical legacy.
