About the Classes

Blue Orange Youth Theatre classes aim to provide an exciting, enjoyable and creative platform for local young people to learn skills in creating excellent quality theatre. The classes are divided into three groups; Juniors, Intermediates and Seniors. Classes take place on a Saturdays.

Our current age groups are:

Tots – (ages 3-6): 1.00pm – 2.00pm

Juniors – (ages 7-9): 9.30am – 11.00am

Intermediates – (ages 10-13): 11.15am – 12.45pm

Seniors – (ages 14-18): 1.00pm – 2.30pm

What you will do (amongst other many, many other things)

Learn basic drama skills

Build teamwork and confidence

Develop vocal and physical technique

Learn how to create original theatre

Learn how to devise, improvise and write scripts

Put on a presentation to friends and family twice yearly

Seniors most years also have the opportunity to make a short film

Dates for 2019/2020

Term 1:

Saturday 21st September to Saturday 7th December 2019 Half term: Saturday 26th October 2019 and Saturday 2nd November 2019  (NO YOUTH THEATRE)

Term 2:

Saturday 11th January to Saturday 21st March 2020 Half term: Saturday 15th February 2019 and Saturday 22nd February 2020 (NO YOUTH THEATRE)  

Term 3:

Saturday 25th April to Saturday 11th July 2020 Half term: Saturday 23rd May 2020 and Saturday 30th May 2020 (NO YOUTH THEATRE)

PRICING:

• £70 a term per child
• £45 a term for each subsequent child (can be used on any youth theatre age group)

Early Bird tickets (£60 – £40 for each subsequent child) are available until the 4th April 2019.

How to Join:

• Download the application form (see right) which includes the Terms and Conditions
• Fill in on Microsoft Word or print it out to fill in by hand
• Pay for one or two children by clicking the button (see right). This will reserve your place but for insurance purposes we still need the application form to be filled in.

The Blue Orange Theatre is a vibrant independent theatre situated in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter. We opened our doors in 2011.
