Harriette Luscombe, founder of Coaches for Change Ltd, is an MSc-qualified Applied Positive Psychologist and EMCC Global Accredited Coach.
She was invited to deliver a structured wellbeing session designed to help founders transition psychologically from three months of intense execution - addressing stress, reflection, strengths, and what it means to flourish beyond commercial targets.
As part of the programme, she delivered a founder wellbeing and performance psychology session to the latest cohort on the island of Gozo, Malta.
The session formed part of a closing retreat for Supercharger’s sixth accelerator cohort, which saw founders from EdTech companies relocate to Malta for three months to develop their businesses, culminating in a high-stakes demo day pitching to investors.
Harriette said: "The retreat was supposed to be the exhale but for high-achieving people, switching off doesn't come automatically.
“My role was to create the space to stop, reflect on what they'd achieved, and think about how to sustain performance and wellbeing beyond the programme.
“The conversations that followed were some of the most honest and human I've experienced in my work and felt incredibly valuable given that 85 per cent of founders admit to experiencing high stress."
The engagement is part of a growing international dimension to Coaches for Change, which delivers corporate wellbeing and behaviour change programmes to organisations including Santander, the British Heart Foundation, PwC, the Ministry of Justice and Moda Group.
The business is co-founded with Jamie Cullen, who brings an elite sport and reformer pilates expertise to the partnership.
Harriette is also a regular contributor to BBC West Midlands Radio on workplace wellbeing and human performance and is looking forward to announcing some high-profile speaking events in the near future.
