Alison specialises in acquisition, corporate and leveraged finance, acting for private equity clients, corporate borrowers, banks, private credit funds and alternative lenders on acquisition finance and general corporate transactions.
Tom Durrant, Birmingham office managing partner, added: “Alison is a key hire and forms part of our investment plan in the Midlands, with the further growth of our transactional capabilities a priority.
Alison is a first-rate lawyer, noted for her commercially focused client service and we are very pleased to welcome her to the team.”
Alison has acted for a range of private equity firms, banks, and private credit funds on acquisition finance deals across a variety of sectors and is well-attuned to the leveraged finance market. She has also spent some time in the in-house legal team at Barclays Bank.
Alison said: “I have been impressed by Squire Patton Boggs’ fast-growing Financial Services practice and reputation amongst the private equity community.
“A global law firm which remains invested in the regional markets and regional relationships, yet also benefitting from the global network of offices, is a rare find in Birmingham, and the firm’s collaborative and friendly yet high-performance culture was also a major draw.
“I am excited by the firm’s continued growth plans and am especially thrilled to be joining at such an exciting time for both the Financial Services practice and the Birmingham office and hope to play my part in both,”.
Joining from legal firm Gateley, Alison is the latest addition into the firm’s Financial Services Practice which includes over 20 senior hires over the past year as part of a strategic build-out into areas including private credit, structured finance, debt finance, regulatory and fund formation, and capital markets.
She is the latest partner to join the firm in Birmingham following the arrival of Restructuring and Insolvency partner Deborah Brown and Corporate partner Partho Chaudhuri.
The firm has also announced that it will be moving to a new office in Birmingham later this year.
