Presented by Green Tourism, the UK’s leading sustainability accreditation body, the award recognises the continued commitment of both the conference venue and hotel to sustainable and responsible hospitality.
Over the past year, both sites have built on their environmental initiatives, further strengthening efforts around energy efficiency, water conservation, sustainable sourcing, community engagement and the promotion of low-carbon travel options.
Matt Woodall, venue manager at the BCEC, said: “We’re incredibly proud to have secured the Silver Green Tourism Award for a second year running.
“This recognition highlights the consistency of our efforts and the progress we continue to make across both venues. With each year, we are closing the gap to Gold, and remain committed to pushing even further in delivering more sustainable experiences for our guests.”
Visitors to both venues are encouraged to play their part, with initiatives and guidance in place to support energy conservation, recycling, responsible consumption and the use of more sustainable travel options.
