The rise came as the school holidays got underway, with Dublin, Palma, Alicante and Malaga among the most popular destinations.
Low‑cost traffic saw the biggest growth, with 11 per cent more passengers using these services compared with July 2025.
July also saw the opening of two new Aspire Lounges, easyJet’s 10 millionth passenger through BHX and a successful initiative showing care-experienced young adults the behind-the-scenes view of the airport to gain insight into potential career opportunities.
Matt Hazelwood, chief commercial officer of Birmingham Airport, said: “July has been another fantastic month for us.
“Welcoming more than 1.4 million passengers and setting a fourth consecutive record month of passengers is an incredible achievement and shows how many people across the region are choosing to fly from Birmingham for their summer trips.
“We’re constantly exploring opportunities to give our passengers a better experience and more choice, so it’s great to see new destinations appearing on our departure boards and continued improvements across the terminal to help make journeys easier and more enjoyable for everyone travelling through the airport.”
