Big Bren’s Farewell Tour got off to a very good start on Friday the 3rd and Sunday the 5th of May! Many performers showcased their talent in order to raise money for Alzheimer’s Research UK, a Charity Brendan was passionate about.
There are still three more dates available for anyone wishing to celebrate the life of the late Brendan Higgins, one of Birmingham’s most well loved pub poets!
The memorial tour has been organised by Bren’s friends Matt Recardo and Alan Gray, and Anna Higgins, Bren’s sister.
Each evening will be a variety show featuring poets, stand up comedians and live music. The remaining gigs will be held at the following venues:
10th May
The Old Mosley Arms
Mosley/Basall Heath 7pm
17th May
The Anchor
Digbeth/Deritend 7pm
31st May
The Station
Kings Heath 7pm
Admission is free, though as referenced earlier, there will be a donation bucket at each gig for Alzheimer’s Research UK.
So join us in celebrating the life of Birmingham’s very own Punk Poet, with laughter, song and of course poetry!
Please contact Matt Recardo via email at mrecardo@rocketmail.com for more details.
