Following the sad news of his passing, Brendan Higgins aka “Big Bren” is to have a memorial tour in his honour, organised by Bren’s friends Matt Recardo and Alan Gray, and Anna Higgins, Bren’s sister.
Each evenings performance will be in the style of a variety show featuring poets, stand up comedians and live music. The gigs will be held at the following venues (that were chosen, because he used to perform at them himself):
3rd May
The Hollybush
Cradley Heath
5th May
Centrala
Digbeth/Deritend
10th May
The Old Mosley Arms
Mosley/Basall Heath
17th May
The Anchor
Digbeth/Deritend
31st May
The Station
Kings Heath
Admission is free, though there will be a donation bucket at each gig for Alzheimer’s Research, which was a charity that Bren was passionate about fundraising for.
So join us in celebrating the life of Birmingham’s very own Punk Poet, with laughter, song and of course poetry!
Please contact Matt Recardo via email at mrecardo@rocketmail.com for more details on performance times. (They are all evening gigs.)
