The firm has also welcomed Aulfat Bi, who joins as a partner in the National Capital Allowances team.
Ben joined Azets in 2019 as an audit manager and specialises in audit for private businesses, from small single entities through to large international groups.
He has been instrumental in the growth of the audit team, which has expanded from 12 to more than 80 people in six years across commercial and public sector audit.
Ben also sits on the ICAEW Technical and Practical Auditing Committee.
Aulfat is a chartered tax advisor and tax technician, with over 20 years’ experience specialising in capital allowances and land remediation relief.
She started her career as a graduate and developed her skills at a Big 4 firm, and then headed up the Capital Allowances and Land Remediation Relief team at a boutique firm.
Aulfat has worked with a vast range of clients that span all industry sectors and sizes, including FTSE 100 companies, high-net-worth individuals, household names, and privately owned businesses and SMEs.
The Birmingham office is home to specialist teams working across the technology, sports, manufacturing, aviation and real estate sectors, providing deep expertise to support clients in audit, tax, corporate finance, forensics, restructuring and insolvency (R&I), and accounting and business advisory services (ABAS).
Ben said: “We have an exceptional reputation for client experience and a hugely ambitious team, and I’m looking forward to supporting a people-focused growth strategy that invests not only in our clients but in the city itself.
Collaboration is a big part of who we are in Birmingham, both in how we work with each other and how we support the community.
“Whether it’s turning our boardroom into a relaxed, social space – The Profit and Loss – each month for colleagues to connect, or our ongoing work with the Foodbank, we want people to feel supported and inspired as part of the team.
“Looking ahead, we’ll continue to hire and further invest in our growing trainee cohort next year, along with identifying further strategic hires to accelerate our growth.”
These appointments follow senior promotions made last month at Azets in Birmingham, where Sarah Sullivan and Joel Fentem were appointed as directors.
Richard Goddard, regional managing director at Azets, added: “Birmingham is a hugely important part of our regional strategy, and the momentum we’re seeing here reflects both the strength of the market and the quality of the team.
“Demand for our services continues to rise across all areas, and Ben’s appointment comes at exactly the right time as we build on that trajectory.
“With specialist capability across multiple sectors and a growing pipeline of opportunities, we’re investing in people, technology and infrastructure to ensure we stay ahead of what our clients need.
“The addition of new senior talent, including Aulfat, further strengthens our offer and positions the office for its next phase of expansion.”
