A match-funding campaign has led to more than £10,000 being raised for Anawim – Birmingham’s Centre for Women in just seven days.
The Big Give Women and Girls match funding campaign secured £5,030 in donations and £5,000 in match funding.
Anawim works with nearly 2,000 women every year, many of whom have experienced either domestic, sexual, economic or other forms of abuse.
More than 130 donors made over 150 donations to the campaign, ranging from £1 to £1,300.
Donors included the Cliterature Club, The Juke’s Half Pint Run Club, Brew Ha Ha Comedy and Rowan Silversmiths.
Joy Doal Anawim CEO says: “The response to this campaign has been amazing and we’re all delighted with the final total.
“£10,000 is such a large amount of money to raise in seven days – especially for our first match funding campaign. Thank you so much to everyone who supported us.”
