Prime Accountants finished second place in their group following a commendable effort.

The all-star padel team consisted of directors Steve Harcourt and Paul Guise, alongside Jack Holder and Jason Gregory.

Money raised from the event went into the burn’s outpatient department, in order to make a more welcoming, child-friendly environment for those who require these essential services.

As part of the fundraising, Birmingham Children’s Hospital is working to enhance vital activities for young patients.

This is part of a £1.5 million appeal to transform the centre, which has not been updated since it opened in 2007.

Serving approximately 850 children every year, including some of the most serious burn cases in the country, the centre aims to add new private, child-friendly rooms, improved play and therapy spaces, a dedicated laser treatment room and enhanced facilities to help children feel safe, comfortable and at ease during their recovery.

Paul Guise said: “It was an honour to be able to take part in this tournament and raise money for such a worthwhile cause.

“Birmingham Children’s Hospital is doing incredible work and the compassion shown by the doctors, nurses and support staff is unrivalled.

“For the inaugural BCH padel tournament, it was well attended as you would expect, as padel as a sport has really taken off over the last few years,” added Steve Harcout. “Eight corporate teams attended, with two double partnerships representing each Company.

“For the inexperienced Prime team, we took to the sport quickly and performed well, winning half of our matches and finishing second to a more experienced padel team in our group. This unfortunately meant that we did not reach the final!

“The event was well hosted by the BCH team, and we all had a great time playing a relatively new sport and had a bit of fun along the way while raising money for a worthy cause!”

Prime continues to demonstrate its commitment to the West Midlands by supporting a range of charitable causes alongside the exemplary support it offers to local businesses.
