Birmingham, UK – 2nd November 2025 – AccessAbility Arts is proud to present an inspiring evening of spoken word, poetry, and performance at The Brig Café, The Warehouse, Birmingham (B5 5TH) from 7PM to 10PM. The event will feature four phenomenal acts—Chelle, Rob Punton, Spoz, and Joe Cook—alongside open mic opportunities for emerging performers.
Sponsored by Irwin Mitchell, this event is a celebration of art without barriers: a space where lived experience, creativity, and community come together through the power of words.
Chelle
A dynamic spoken-word artist whose poetry draws deeply from lived experience, identity, and empowerment, Chelle’s work speaks “through the lens of my soul.” Her words explore race, belonging, and resilience, bringing warmth and authenticity to every performance.
Rob Punton
A celebrated poet, activist, and disability campaigner, Rob Punton writes with honesty and conviction about justice, equality, and community. His work—such as the powerful poem “Birmingham”—highlights the beauty and challenges of the city he calls home.
Spoz (Giovanni Esposito)
Former Birmingham Poet Laureate (2006–07), Spoz is a prolific performance poet, musician, and educator. He has performed at major festivals including Glastonbury and Cheltenham Literature Festival and is widely known for his work with young people in schools across the Midlands.
Joe Cook
A Birmingham-based musician, lyricist, and spoken-word artist, Joe Cook fuses rhythm, poetry, and social commentary to create work that is both powerful and deeply relatable. His recent project “Odeington” celebrates the spirit and resilience of North Birmingham.
Alongside the headline performers, open mic slots will be available, giving local poets and performers the chance to share their voices in an inclusive, supportive environment.
Sponsored by Irwin Mitchell, the event underscores AccessAbility Arts’ mission to create accessible, inclusive spaces for artists and audiences alike—amplifying diverse voices and challenging barriers in the arts.
