I have loved that I’ve been able to shop in the meat market and at Tuk’s Thai stall during lockdown and have enjoyed friendly chats with stall holders. Had quite a few giggles 😆. Regular free home deliveries from the Eco stall has been much appreciated, but I can’t wait to be able to visit the full market regularly for quality products and cheerful conversations. Until then I hope everyone is safe and well 💜

Food hall has been adapted allowing customers to shop safely and a great friendly service.

The market is a great place to shop and pick up your fresh meat and veg. Tuk’s Thai Food stall is amazing and full of tasty ingredients. Tuk is always happy to help you and has some good recipes to share!

Susan Dunn: Brilliant. During lockdown I needed some new pinking scissors, I went on your virtual market site and asked Susan if she had any. She replied straight away. She ordered me some and I went to pick them up last Friday. Absolutely brilliant customer service.

Now that I am trying to actively support local businesses more I find that I can find most of my basic needs at Barrow market, including fresh vegetables, meat, cooking ingredients (Thai stall) plus cooking utensils. I can save money on ecological sundries and as a hobby dress maker Andrea and Jenny’s Stitches meet my resource needs. Gift shopping is fun at Harts Jewellers and various clothing and gift stalls. Shopping in the market is enjoyable as stall holders are informed about their products and friendly and have time for a chat. I look forward to my next shop in Barrow Market. Thank you to all the stall holders who kept me informed over lockdown 2 via Facebook and fir making deliveries. Thanks to Barrow council for keeping all the essential food stalls open throughout lockdown 2. Well done everyone
