Beds were comfortable.

They cleaned your room which a lot of AirBnBs I have been to don't.
They gave you free tea.

Lunch with a girlfriend, we shared a starter, main each, again shared a desert. Fantastic flavours as always, absolute treat.
Also noticed that some of the main dishes are offered at half size and price for adventurous children, this alongside the children's menu. So friendly and accomodating, brilliant idea.

Base restaurant in a word … DIVINE.
A standout dining experience in Ulverston tucked away from the main centre. It’s a proper foodies, little hidden gem opposite the most quaint community garden at Forde Park if you go at lunchtime the gate will be open. A nice stroll for 10-15mins before /after in the summer months.
We’ve been trying for 4 years to visit to coincide with the tasting menu but every year it’s either full or the dates clash in July.
My partner & I both ordered the chicken Kiev with serious slithers of black truffle on a pomme purée base and gorgeous greens for lunch.
I would go as far as to say … If I had to pick a last supper this would be it. A simple dish elevated by a talented chef.
I wish we lived closer to this restaurant as I would be a regular. Thank you to the staff / owner too as they couldn’t have been more welcoming, very relaxed people whilst being attentive to every detail.
