We take recommendations lightly until we have been ourselves, but after picking a evening menu that suited us, we booked and hoped it stood up to its reputation!
It was by far the best meal we have had in the lakes if not the UK!! Rivaled every Michelin starred dinner we have eaten and for £50 per person!!
7 courses of local, well balanced ingredients. Presented beautifully Infront of the guests.
Staff where attentive and unfussy, wine pairing was fantastic and Abi explained each dish/wine as it arrived.
Scampi and chips and the Peach Melba where standout dishes but all extremely good.
The chef came around to talk to all the guests at the end which is a really nice touch, he talked through the dishes and favourites.
All in all a fantastic experience if you enjoy finer dining.
2 set dinners, wine pairing and 2 local beers £139 Extremely good value for money we will definitely be back as the menu changes regularly, so we can't wait to return to try other menu's.

Absolutely excellent meal here. Seven delicious courses all very original and beautifully presented. Very tasty little touches like vinegar gel with scampi, garlic ash with consommé, really well done and up at the same level as fine restaurants with Michelin stars. The wine flight and cheese course well worth having. We will definitely be back will happily make hour and a half journey to come here, it’s worth it. Thank you
