Came across Base today on our way back down from the John Barrow monument in Ulverston.
What a gem! Fabulously simple, small plates of the most delicious, well presented food. Fantastic service from friendly staff and a chef who clearly loves what he’s doing. Very highly recommended.

Surprisingly enjoyable visit to the Barrow Market Hall. A wide variety of quality merchandise among the 60 or so independent stallholders, looked to be something for just about everyone. Proclaimed to be 'The largest indoor market in Cumbria'. Seemed to be quite a wide choice of local products available.

After visiting other market halls in other towns and watch the stalls disappear it was nice to visit Barrow market and see a busy market. There is everything to find in the market Hall all under one roof and the stall holders are friendly and like a chat well worth a visit whilst visiting the town and maybe grab a brew or a bite to eat within the market

The traders are so helpful and you can tell they are passionate about what they do, which adds the the positive experience! Fantastic Market Hall, with some lovely new stalls and treasured old ones. Such as the shoe stall and harts, there is also a lovely baby stall, eco friendly products stall, perfume stall and many more. It also has a meat hall where all the butchers shop are.

I cannot believe the amount of hidden gems in here lots of little local independent businesses with absolutely gorgeous pieces I particularly love the genuine gemstone stall since recently getting into this and her jewellery pieces are amazing, I’ve also bought lots of personalised and handmade clothes for my girls, dance and everyday shoes and some beautiful handmade personalised gifts. I get all my kitchen needs and my home smellies . Lovely and friendly
