Staff at TI Accountancy now benefit from a biweekly four-day weekend, a fabulous employee benefit, boosting staff morale and productivity. In offering this benefit TI Accountancy continues to lead the industry in employee welfare after first becoming employee-owned in 2019.

TI Accountancy are working with non-profit 4-Day Week Global (4dayweek.com) to offer the 4-day work week in what they are describing as the world’s largest trial of a shorter working week. TI Accountancy, alongside 70 other British companies with more than 3,300 workers (ranging from small consultancies to large financial firms), are offering the four-day week with no loss of pay.

“Working a four-day week is going to improve my work-life balance” said Sarah Bradley, one of TI Accountancy´s employee-owners. “Although I love working in the office, having a four-day weekend every other week is going to significantly increase my free time, allow me more time to pursue my hobbies, and get those everyday tasks at home done. This means I´ll be able to start my week focused and refreshed”

Research into a four-day work week has revealed that it can lead to happier and more committed employees resulting in improved productivity and higher employee retention.  The four-day work week also helps to reduce the business’ carbon footprint with employees travelling into the office less, which results in a net gain for the environment.

Tracy Irwin, TI Accountancy’s founder, said “Due to Covid, the past two years have been unusually stressful and busy for all in the accounting industry and our team were certainly no exception.”

“Putting the wellbeing of our team first is a top priority and I believe that by implementing a four-day work week we are improving our employee’s quality of life which will give the business a competitive edge in the future.’
