John Duffin * the well known Barrow artist was commissioned to paint the outside Hartley’s Restaurant by owners Lisa and Andrew Turner earlier this year.
The picture now takes pride of place in the Market Street restaurant and has attracted lots of attention from customers.
Lisa explained “We went to John’s exhibition in March at the Dock Museum and decided that a painting of the restaurant would be really unique and something we can incorporate in our own marketing material”.
“The whole picture looks really warm and inviting and you can actually see the lights reflecting from inside.”
Hartley’s have recently bought 53 Market Street, (next door) and work has started on making this building into a bar and lounge area, with plenty of scope for larger work areas and kitchens at the rear.
