When thinking about hats and fascinators in Barrow and Furness, there’s only one place to head to and that’s The Hat Box in Ulverston.

Tracy Wells began her career as a hairdresser, but with a fascination for fascinators and hats, she decided to retrain 8 years ago and is now a qualified Couture Milliner.

Situated on Upperbrook Street in Ulverston, The Hat Box is a stunning showcase of Tracy’s passion. You’ll find hats of all colours, shapes and sizes for every occasion. You can purchase a Tracy Wells original from the vast selection on display or Tracy can create a bespoke piece just for you.

If you have already selected an outfit or have a colour scheme in mind, bring these with you to your pre-booked appointment and Tracy will help you select a shape and style that fits you and your occasion perfectly. Tracy will then create a piece for you, consulting you at every stage.

Tucked away behind the shop is Tracy’s workshop. A mass of hat blocks, materials, trims and adornments all waiting to be transformed into something stunning.

Tracy’s creations are seen nationwide, with hats sold all over the country – she even made a stunning hat for Boy George and he regularly Tweets to Tracy. In fact, there’s rarely a week goes by when you don’t see a proud mother of the bride or groom sharing pictures online of their beautiful hats and fascinators.

In 2017 The Hat Box was a Finalist in the Brides North West Awards in the best accessories category and when you visit The Hat Box in Ulverston you can see why. Tracy also makes bags and purses to match her creations and has a range of parasols, umbrellas and even a few select items for the groom too.
