There's a little cottage, in the glade, near an Abbey, where a welcoming young lady called Jackie Baxter, feeds and waters, weary travellers as they walk their dogs, lycra clad (sometimes) folks as they have a stop off on a cycle ride, walkers breaking up their morning constitutional wander into the countryside, and people like me that go there for Bacon butties, and Hot Chocolate with added extras (just ask and watch the calories escalate) for Networking meetings.
In this age of anonymous corporate meeting places, here is a little hidden gem where nothing is too much trouble, there's service with a smile, the monasterial character from the past, oozes out of the walls and just like the toy horse in The Velverteen Rabbit (look it up), this place is "real".
I love it, and have spent many happy hours there. You should too.
One of the best cafes in the town were the food and hot chocolate is amazing.
The afternoon tea especially the xmas one was the best one iv had for the amazing price aswell. I love the cosy little building and often sit and wounder and imagine what it was like before a cafe. The staff are friendly and the woodburner gives a fab feel to the place.
Jackie and the team serve Walney wind cheetahs twice a week after our running sessions.
You can't beat a slice of cake or tea bread served with either tea or latte or even their lovely milk shakes after a nice run from the surroundings of Furness abbey . So many thanks Jackie and the team 😁

I visited Abbey Mill for a breakfast meeting. Oof! What a bacon butty!
A massive thank you to Jackie and the team. We had exclusive use of Abbey Mill for an afternoon tea party for my daughter's 21st Birthday and we had a fabulous afternoon. The cakes were divide, the sandwiches, sausage rolls and mini quiches were delicious and the tea, coffee and hot chocolate flowed all afternoon. So much food, we couldn't eat it all! As always the girls were very polite and attentive and I can't wait to go back.

We love a cream tea, freshly homemade scones, delicious jam and lashings of clotted cream, so it would be rude not to indulge this Friday during National Cream Tea Day, and there's no better place for...
