We were very happy with everyone that we dealt with at The Personal Agent during our house purchase process.

Their clear messaging kept the seller informed of some delays through the process (due to no fault of our own), which meant that there was no real tension on that side of things.

They also sped up our own selling process at several different stages despite us using another agent on that side.

Dan Wallace was the main person that we dealt with throughout the purchase and he was honest, efficient and personable. He also provided examples of different alterations that have been made to houses in the area, which helped us think about how the house that we purchased could look over the longer term.

Ben Woolnough filled in for Dan while he was away for a week and provided the same level of help, keeping the process on track through exchange through to pre-completion.

Shannon-Marie Denton showed us around a different property to start with and was equally helpful throughout the process despite us choosing to go with another house. She gave some accurate and honest suggestions when it came to different properties they had listed in the area (one of which we ended up buying).

There really wasn't much (if anything) to fault in the process and we would happily recommend the Personal Agent's Stoneleigh office based on our experience.

Really pleased with the service and results from with the Personal Agent in Stoneleigh.

Dan Wallace was our primary contact and was great in his communication and support throughout the process, helping steer us and the chain through the steps.

While Dan was our main contact, the whole team were also "present", friendly and able to step in or provide help if needed.

I felt confident and at ease from the outset, with honest house appraisal advice through to the end. It was also lovely to work with such a friendly group , providing a side of therapy during potentially stressful times.

Our estate agent Dan has been absolutely fantastic in what at times was a very tricky chain. Dan has been a great advocate for us as buyers and has been on hand constantly to help with all issues and queries, couldn’t recommend enough.

Liam has been a brilliant agent for us in a difficult and stressful time. The house was shown on an open day and an offer was made and accepted within the week .Liam has kept us informed throughout the process and it has been so helpful to have personal contact throughout. We would highly recommend him.

In response to the agent's response received 14.10.25 - Thank you for taking the time to call and discuss. I left this feedback in July25 after it all fell through, and we incurred costs losses and lost a lovely property in a fantastic area. So sentiments were very hot then. It's been a few months since then and its now in the past, so I've changed the review to a mid 3 stars.

This was avoidable, that is us incurring costs because the buyers sat on the process and Estate Agent expertise contracted (you) let it happen. High Street Estate agents keep saying "don't use Purple Bricks, Online Agents, nobody looks after your sale"....look what happened here.

If this issue came out within a few weeks after offer acceptance, we would be disappointed having wasted time searching hard for our onward purchase, but without cancellation fees to Solicitors.
How your inhouse vetting team Ignite passed the buyers, yet they failed at Mortgage Lender stage, again that side of process failed us (the purpose of our fee payable to you upon successful completion). And this all happened a few weeks before Gov.UK relaxed mortgage affordability criteria!!!

It was not meant to be. 2025 was not the year for it to happen for us. Maybe 2026 will be.

I accept you didn't go into contract with us to fail. It's a lesson learnt for us too, we will progress more cautiously in the future.

Thank you again or your response.

Original Post:
TPA Stoneleigh let us down massively. A buyer offered and we accepted, and 5 weeks later after we had our offer accepted, the conveyancing process started. 2 weeks later, the buyer can't afford our property however more puzzling is the buyer has not returned any calls/emails. Speaking to other agents afterwards I am informed our buyers (no longer) provided their affordability nearly £40k less than what we were advertised at and targeting. How did Ignite Financial Solutions (a sister company of TPA) vet this buyer??? Essentially this buyer should have never been put forward to view our property. Even then, after we've accepted their offer, the buyer sat on their mortgage process and so did TPA & Ignite. This should have come out a few weeks after we have accepted their offer, not 7 weeks later after Solicitors have been instructed.
