Very friendly sweet museum. Free entry. Permanent exhibits held visual impact through their imaginative placement and eclectic charm - it’s especially fun for young children. Not much in the way of descriptive texts or information panels and not all exhibits are labelled but there’s such a diverse collection, it’s worth a visit just to see the varied and charming assemblage. Conveys a sense of what is was like living in bygone days through the many items of personal memorabilia - many of which were everyday items - in a lively and evocative way.

At the time of our visit there was a temporary exhibition of Barbara Cartland’s life and works, which was really well arranged, informative and visually splendid, with well-written panels which were just the right sort of length to read.

Just make sure you don’t park your car on the road nearby. There are no markings on the road itself but nearby signposts do warn this is within a no parking zone and you will run the risk of getting a pcn.

St. Barbe Museum & Art Gallery
St. Barbe Museum & Art Gallery can be found just off the High Street in the beautiful Georgian town of Lymington. The Museum is a family friendly museum, with collections and displays that tell the story of the New Forest coast; while the Art Gallery has exhibitions of national significance. Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

Cannot comment on museum itself as we had limited time and came into ask re Tourist Information. Staff could not have been more helpful and the artist section with coffee stall provided us with rest and chance to buy one of the artists' work. Hope the council realise how lucky they are with their volunteers!

The Story Museum
The Story Museum in the centre of Oxford celebrates stories and story telling in all it's forms. A very quirky museum full of energy and fun - from cookery classes (story food of course) to stories from elves, this is one of Oxfordshire's best! Boasting a great cafe and shop too......
