Lichfield antiques specialists have uncovered a Liverpudlian love story behind a Victorian wedding dress recently consigned for auction by a Derbyshire lady, the bride’s granddaughter. Married in Bootle in 1897, the couple later moved from Liverpool to Yorkshire, then to Shanklin on the Isle of Wight, and then to Stranraer, in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland.
Unseen photos from Bournemouth’s 1910 International Aviation Meeting, during which Rolls-Royce co-founder Charles Rolls plunged to his death when his plane broke up mid-air, have been discovered by a Lichfield auctioneer.
BBC Bargain Hunt returns to The Lichfield Auction Centre to film the 2023 Christmas Specials on October 31. The presenter and experts have now been confirmed and people are invited to join the auction action.
The signatures were obtained from the Fab Four at Buckingham Palace on October 26 1965 by a Birmingham senior fire officer who was also receiving the MBE.
