Large gardens, beautiful house, excellent restaurant. Expect to spend a full day here. It’s so nice to see the house still being used and creating its own stories to add to its history. We’ve visited many houses & gardens like this throughout the South Wests and this is amongst the best of them. Gardens are large and varied with plenty to see and the restaurant is fantastic in its own right - no pre-packaged sandwiches here! Highly recommend.

This hotel is in such a lovely location and has great atmosphere. Our room had a nice little view of the garden and fields where the cows roamed. The staff were very lovely, friendly and accommodating. It seemed they couldn’t do enough and always on hand to help. The food was fabulous and so were our serving staff, especially Courtney, Carla and Tilly, who always greeted us with a smile and looked after us.
We were there for a ghost weekend and were not disappointed.
The spa was a nice addition but the ambiance in there wasn’t quite as expected. We did have time for a swim and jacuzzi but with a mixture of children splashing around and lane swimmers it didn’t quite hit the ‘spa’ experience, not that we were there for the spa, but I don’t think we’d go for a spa day for that reason. Each to their own of course. On the whole a great experience was enjoyed by us all!
