What an absolutely incredible stay at The Last Drop — and one employee in particular made it unforgettable: Sirus.

For 3 out of the 3 days of our stay, Sirus was everywhere, doing everything, and doing it all with genuine warmth, kindness, and professionalism — even during the hottest weekend on record.

At the Drop Inn Bar, he was serving boiling hot food flawlessly while somehow managing the endless needs of guests with calmness and a smile all afternoon.

At the Bakehouse, he wasn’t just making and serving food — he created such a welcoming atmosphere. He took the time to chat warmly with my Mum while she enjoyed a much-needed afternoon tea and scone and some peaceful alone time. That kindness meant more than he probably realises.

Then at breakfast, there he was again — greeting everyone with smiles, morning chats, and energy that never seemed to fade whilst working like a trooper.

Sirus doesn’t just deliver hospitality — he delivers humanity. In a world where genuine customer care can be rare, he stands out as an absolute gem. Friendly, attentive, hardworking, and endlessly thoughtful.

A true credit to The Last Drop, and honestly one of the best examples of customer service we’ve experienced anywhere.

Thank you, Sirus — you made our stay special.

Lovely location and nice little Gem with stunning view Hotel.
We had nice time relaxing in excellent spa facilities and spacious hotel.
Nice bar ambience .
Unfortunately we had two issues:
Bedding was dirty and not changed when we checked in the room on first nights , got rectified next day.
Item got missing or removed from our room. Small items like my wife shoes and slippers, could be my mistake but left sour taste as shoe were for wearing on Funeral day.
Management said they will look into it but week passed and no response.
It is shame to lose items at night facility.

Stayed here many, many times. The rooms need updating as does the spa changing rooms. However the food as always is excellent and the staff are amazing. Sirus, was incredible and really stood out, He was professional, helpful, extremely efficient, and went above and beyond. He is a credit to the hotel. My friend and I can’t wait to return and look forward to seeing Sirus again.

We love staying here on a regular basis but on this particular occasion our room had a very creaky floor and desk/dressing table chair. The sink was blocked (but fixed promptly) and our room was directly above the reception entrance which proved to be susceptible to all the noise from some of the patrons sitting outside.

Scott's Grotto is an elliptical stone built English Folly that resembles a Hobbit House built by the 18th C poet and Turnpike manager John Scott who was a pacifist friend of all the literati in his Age like Dr Samuel Johnson in his devotional family life at Amwell House in Ware. The Summer House is well worth the gentle hill climb that shows where Scott wrote his anti-War poetry `The Drum'. I am a firm supporter of all that is personified in defending our liberty and freedom in VE 80 but would recommend any discerning visitors whom can also experience the peace and graceful tranquillity of the world known to John Scott and his 18thC Quaker minded circle of guests - who requested his enigmatic Grotto to remain open to the public on his demise. Scott s Grotto was restored at the behest of the Ware Society in 1991 ad is open only Saturdays 2.30 -5 p.m. and on Bank Holidays.

We have been meaning to visit here for many years. What a little gem!
The visitor staff were knowledgeable and very helpful.
So sad to think it was once a small part of what must have been an impressive house and grounds.

Such a friendly place to go with outstanding food. Great to see an authentic experience in the countryside maintained and enjoyed by so many. We loved the staff who spent a lot of time with us making sure we had everything we needed. They made some excellent recommendations for our tastes. It was very well priced as well.

We will definitely be going back soon.
