Went here for a cream tea with my Mother using a voucher I was gifted at Christmas. The location is really lovely and worth a visit. The cream tea was nice and we devoured it all. Service was pretty slow even though it was not busy hence 4 stars rather than 5.

Huge gardens of great variety on many levels and with stunning man made waterfalls. Truly a lovely walk.there is a gift shop and also plants can be bought.
Finally a catering facility supplying meals or just a hot drink on a chilly soring morning. Well worth a visit if you are in the area, repeatedly if you own a pooch. I believe you can purchase an annual season ticket if you live locally.

Cold but sunny spring day but Hestercombe offers a lot. The children loved the waterfall, the adults liked the more formal gardens. The walks round the grounds are well looked after and there are some lovely views and vistas. Tasty lunch in the courtyard cafe. A lovely afternoon in the fresh air for ages 2 - 66, something for everyone to look at and enjoy.

Best to visit once the spring flowers are in bllom - still looks like a work in progress. The house is interesting but the art displays need to be livelier!

I had been looking forward to visiting Hestercombe and being March thought the formal gardens would be full of Spring planting. How disappointed I was to see a mass of the most unsuitable plant ‘ Bergenia Cordifolia’ which I believe should only be used to ground cover an unseen part of a garden. Perhaps if I visit next year in the Spring the gardeners will have remembered that this Autumn they need to plant some bulbs! The walk through the valley was the highlight of the visit.

Fab walk through the vast woodlands and grounds. Fab views of the valley, waterfalls and lakes, gorgeous little buildings throughout! Had a cream tea in the restaurant, yummy, three warm scones with cream and jam, and pot of tea, plenty of it £10, will re-visit 😁.Lovely extra, a walk in the Blundell woods, stunning !

A perfect length walk for the family... lots for 10 year old to do, as well as being suitable for prams. Lots of climbing and scrambling as well as lots of small buildings to explore and find out about. Only criticism is that route is not signposted well at the end.

I hosted an Afternoon Tea at Hestercombe House for my sister's hen do. We hired the Dining Room for 16 people and were thrilled with the fantastic service we received from Jess. She was very attentive and friendly, and happy to help with any request. There were two gluten free guests in my party who said that they didn't enjoy the "chalky" GF scones, but the rest of the guests were very happy with their meals. The pictures we took on the steps outside were beatiful, especially in the sunshine, and the Bride had a fantastic time. Would recommend, and would like to visit again to have time to enjoy the gardens.

I have been meaning to visit Hestercombe for some time and will not wait so long to go back again.
Set in 50 acres, steeped in history, the area ranges from the more formal Lutyens designed and Jekyll planted Edwardian garden to the Georgian landscape with water features and summerhouse.
It is a tranquil spot guaranteed to inspire visitors.

Even though it’s busy service in the tea rooms was swift and efficient, good portions on the cream teas too. Dog friendly, ample parking if a little uneven. Check out the gift shop for those little thing for the man who has everything
