Beautiful castle. Unfortunately it is rarely possible to visit the inside. You can visit the gardens and the park around. We have been there in Autumn. A really good time to envoy the beauty of nature.

Althought the inside of the castle wasn't open, we did have a look aound the beautiful grounds. You can walk through the inner courtyard to access the rear walled gardens, and then on past the maze to the folly. The cafe does really nice sandwiches, and the shop sells some quite nice arty things as well as pictures.

Despite there not being a huge amount to do here other than walk round the grounds. There is a small cafe with indoor and outdoor seating. Shame the Castle isn't open to look round more often. The gardens are good and well presented. The woodland is nice and relaxing when there aren't lots of children running around screaming. The price is a bit high for entry.

Real castle with most and huge grounds. Pleasant staff and enjoyable refreshments. Shame castle itself is off limits but thanks to Queen's University at least the place hasn't fallen apart.

Great walk across the bridge into the Castle gardens and then onto the multiple rear gardens. Well maintained with beautiful flowers and shrubs. You can then walk through the woods to see the 300 year old Sweet Chestnut tree. Further around, the estate ground is a folley with gardens, then a lovely walk back around the lakes, and the moat. Fantastic day out. Would highly recommend.
