Special commendations to the staff....Semoyal, Shannon, Sir Neil, lovely smiley lady with the glasses and braids who served us dinner.... the staff member who serviced our room (9) from 5-7 May...plus everyone else who looked after us at breakfast. You are all superstars.

My only regret is not getting to use the massage service at the spa...but I didn't book in advance so that's on me.

As a couple travelling from Australia (and looking the part, turning up with too many travel bags as Australians tend to do), we couldn't have been treated or looked after any better.

Lads and lasses of this particular part of East Lancashire, take a bow.

Last minute Saturday night stay on a bank holiday weekend. SatNav doesn't take you to the hotel, need to have directions. Impressive building with many rooms; really busy and a queue when check in commenced at 3pm.

Friendly staff throughout, Semoyal gave me his card so gets a name check, always had a smile for us. We booked an executive room and it was spacious and spotlessly clean. Big screen TV and the bed was two large singles together.

We used the wine bar, very nicely furnished area.

Pool was massively busy as we expected so we used the spa early on Sunday. Opened at 7.30 and the medium sized pool was full with four people doing lengths. Sauna and steam room doors were open, not sure why, but the sauna soon heated up.

Breakfast was extensive and good to see freshly chopped fruit.

Definitely stay here again.

We booked a spa break and overnight stay for our anniversary.
The service we received from the moment we stepped in and throughout our stay was honestly excellent. The staff were all so attentive and so kind. Special shout out to Anne and her colleagues in the spa area they were all amazing and made us feel so comfortable. As a British-Indian (Muslim) couple it can sometimes be a little daunting when visiting places like this however we felt so comfortable and the service we received was just lovely throughout. The staff went out their way to make sure everything was perfect for us. The treatments were Amazing and the therapists we had were lovely and also provided the best service.
Afternoon tea was yummy.
Only one thing I would say that the changing areas and the pool area needs renovating and a little TLC it has a worn out feel. Definitely in need of some modernisation.
The hotel was beautiful inside with a rustic and victorian feel. I booked a Privilege room and that was spacious and very comfortable. Dining areas were decorated beautifully and the breakfast was delicious with lots of variety. Just missed some vegetarian or vegan sausages.
Some areas of the hotel look a little worn and need some attention but besides that it was all perfect for us and we enjoyed every moment.
We will definitely be visiting again.

We booked through secret escapes b&b and 3 course evening meal . It was all very good and I would recommend it to anyone. The car park was free at the time of our stay but there is normally a £10 per night charge

My wife and I have spent time here on numerous occasions in the past and every time it has been a pleasant stay. This weekend was no different. However that was only made possible by the professional help given to us by Shannon. Unfortunately we had to change rooms twice because of faults that couldn’t have been foreseen by the hotel. But Shannon took it all in her stride and arranged everything to make the changes seamless. We will definitely be back.

We were here with leons coach tours .greeted on arrival by a very pleasant man very smart .off to our room. Staff were on hand to help find our rooms which was great this place is like a rabbit Warren
Our room was very nice double aspect with views over the courtyard and fields the room was clean until we saw behind the very large TV it was absolutely filthy .and had been like that for ages ! Then went into the bathroom it was clean but does need an upgrade then later went to put something in the bin was shocked it was full of tea bags and cigarette ends and smelt awful reported and it was dealt with .breakfast was excellent the evening meals were OK but the service was awful two hours one night for three courses
We did use the pool the staff on the particular day were not very pleasant as I took my key card and not the paper letter !!!! It does say say take the the paper card so much confusion but not dealt with in a very nice manner !!! The pool is lovely water is warm and we had a great swim .all in all we had a lovely stay but these few niggles were a disappointment.

Myself and my mum booked a nights spa stay with 3 course dinner. The hotel is lovely, the spa is really nice and relaxing and the food was great but what made the stay was the staff. The staff at this hotel are absolutely amazing! A special mention for Aziz who is a gem, he could not do enough for us. When he found out it was my birthday he went above and beyond to make our stay special! Thankyou for all the little extra's! We will definitely be going back!

All the staff were very helpful and friendly. Our room was very spacious and the room we had was extremely hot and couldn’t open the windows or operate the air conditioning but as soon as we reported the problem it was all sorted straight away, however the air conditioning was very poor and we still had to use fans that were already in the room, but having said this we were offered a room change but we did decline.
The bathroom could do with some tlc, no toilet roll holder, no toilet brush and the shower door was hard to close.
We did enjoy the swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna.
Breakfast was a good choice and plentiful, however dinner was not so good, in my opinion the starters were not very good, we had whitebait was disappointing for the cost, the mushrooms and the chicken wings was also disappointing for the cost, the fish and chips was good, the chicken schnitzel was dry and small and my ribs, don’t know where to start, they looked anemic, no sauce, the onion rings, all I could taste was beer, the teaspoon of coleslaw was warm and over mayonnaised and this cost £17.50 and you never had chips with that, they was an extra at a cost of £5.50, hence the second night we went out for dinner.

We had a great deal for £149 DBB in an executive room. We were greeted very warmly and it was a nice start. The hotel is quite big and our room a fair way from reception but we appreciated the view of field and trees from our window.

Large room and comfy bed, tea and coffee in cupboard. I used the swimming pool which is very nice and lovely and warm.

Because we were on the dinner included rate we ate in the hotel. Found the menu disappointing, fish and chips, pie and mash, burger and chips etc. Pretty much standard food which was uninspiring but was ok.

The staff once again were exceptional, friendly and pleasant and the dining room is a nice space.

The breakfast was surprisingly good, lots of selection with plenty of fresh fruit cooked meats and a well stocked buffet of cooked items.

We probably would stay again at such a great price and would accept the limitations of the dinner menu. All in all we had a relaxing an enjoyable stay at a very friendly and interesting hotel.
