After spending nearly two years looking for the right home, dealing with a difficult property market and, at times, estate agents who made the process feel far harder than it needed to be, dealing with John was genuinely a breath of fresh air.
From our very first viewing, John went above and beyond. It never felt as though he was simply there to sell us a house – he understood that he was also selling us a lifestyle and an area that we could see ourselves living in.
He gave us plenty of time to properly walk around the property without ever making us feel rushed or pressured. What really impressed us, though, was what happened afterwards. My husband didn’t know Banstead particularly well, so John actually drove us to the nearest station and then into Banstead Village, showing us the local amenities and helping us get a proper feel for the area. It may sound like a small thing, but when you’re considering where to make your family home, it makes an enormous difference.
What stood out throughout the entire process was John’s approach to buyers. Of course, we completely understand that an estate agent is instructed by and works for the seller. However, John and the team clearly understand something that I think sets them apart: to successfully sell a home, you also need to work with the buyer. You need to communicate, build trust and help both sides get to the same destination. That mindset really does put The Personal Agent above the rest.
Our offer was accepted on a Saturday, and from that point things moved at an incredible pace. The memorandum of sale was issued promptly and, unbelievably, we exchanged contracts just 21 days after our offer was accepted. Having spent two years looking for a home, I know just how unusual that is!
Of course, something like that requires everyone to play their part, and we were extremely fortunate to have a fantastic and proactive seller too. But John was right there in the middle of it, communicating, chasing, updating and helping to keep everything moving between all parties.
I will admit that I am an extremely proactive buyer and I like my updates – sometimes daily! I initially wondered whether John might get fed up with me, but he was an absolute dream throughout. He understood that buying a home is a huge deal and never made me feel as though I was being a nuisance for wanting to know what was happening. Instead, he worked with me and helped facilitate the whole process incredibly smoothly.
After two years of searching, we have finally found our home, and I genuinely couldn’t have asked for a better experience getting us over the line.
I would have absolutely no hesitation recommending John or the wider team to anyone selling or buying a property. Professional, proactive, personable and genuinely invested in getting the transaction completed.
They really are their namesake – The Personal Agent.

Stayed here a few years ago, that was not good, so have stayed elsewhere since, but up visiting family again at the weekend just gone so thought we would try it again. Room was lovely, very clean, and was great being on the ground floor but the curtains let a lot of light in so sleep was disturbed way to early. Hopefully that can be sorted because we will hopefully be staying again soon.

Having stayed at this hotel many years ago and being very impressed with the spa, I decided to revisit when work brought me back to the area.
I was impressed with the rate we paid for the room. It was excellent value for an executive room with spa access for two people. The room itself was clean and fresh, although the decor is a little dated. The corridor was rather untidy though - arriving at 5pm, there were still plates left out from guests’ room service breakfasts.
The room was large and the bed was massive and very comfortable. The bathroom was clean and the over-bath was shower nice with good pressure and temperature. There was a decent sized wardrobe and an area with table and chairs.
Onto the spa and pool: the hydrotherapy pool is a massive highlight - beautifully warm with bubbles, jets and an indoor-outdoor experience. When I stayed here previously, there were beautiful views across to the moors. Sadly, since then a housing estate has been built VERY close, so the only views from the spa are into people’s back gardens, which is a bit weird.
The thermal rooms were a bit disappointing - 2 of the 5 were out of order and those that were open were very tired (missing tiles, dirty grout, wood stained with black mould / damp in the sauna etc.).
The pool itself was nice. 18m long so a little shorter than a standard pool but plenty of space to get a few lengths in. The temperature was ok - cool compared to the hydrotherapy pool but fine for swimming.
We chose not to dine in the hotel but did enjoy a nice cocktail in the bar. The young bar staff were very friendly and helpful.
Overall this is a nice hotel and the spa - although in need of some TLC - is a nice addition. I’d stay again.

Lovely location with lovely views, all the staff from reception right thru to the spa were very attentive, went above & beyond, super friendly with a great atmosphere, made our experience magical! The food in the restaurant & pub was excellent! The rooms were spacious, clean, had everything you needed, beds were comfy. The spa & pool facilities were fab. It was exceptional value for money, we went all inclusive which made our experience even better after having our original trip to Berlin cancelled we chose this place and infact we agreed we had a better time here than we would of had there! Im 100% coming back! & recommend everyone to visit!
