Bit pricey, as other reviewers have stated, but I wanted to get some greenery in my sight and smell, away from London, and this provided. In my opinion, a nice mix of the formal garden, which I could take or leave, and some wilder, marshy areas which were more me.

Lots of benches and places to sit, and the estimated time it takes to walk around (as noted on the map you are given when you pay the entrance fee) is hugely over estimated, so don't be put off - 2 hours is more like half an hour, and I'm no spring chicken, nor a gym bunny :)
Several reviewers have noted that the restaurant is very overpriced, I'm not sure I agree. It's not cheap, but the service was good, and so was the food.

Really interesting gardens and estate - something different around every corner and lots of land and walks to be had - also cafe/tea-room has a good menu

Used tesco vouchers to get in, and even though website quoted £23, we were charged £24.20.
It was nice place for a walk with family and 2 dogs, and saw lots of nice things and scenery.
The food was nice in the restaurant.
There was an art exhibition on in the house, which was good, but found the house was a bit smooth apart from that. The gardens were nice and well presented.
Unfortunately not somewhere I'd be tempted to visit again though.

Gardens and lakes are pretty. Restaurant offers good food. However word of warning these gardens are NOT suitable for anyone in a wheelchair. The lift to the restaurant was out of order and was told it was going to cost too much to repair.

Beautiful Gardens, and wonderful views make this garden one not to be missed. The gardens are well laid out with lots of colour and as you wander around the grounds you get many different aspects of this lovely garden which also has pergolas and ponds. There is also a theatre in the mill which charts the history of how the estate and gardens came into being.
The woodland walk around the extensive grounds is also one not to be missed and although it is uphill in parts it is not that steep and when you return to the house you can enjoy a drink and food in the restaurant or coffee bar

The staff at the hotel are super friendly, very professional and really care you have a good stay. It’s incredible value and the breakfast is great! Special mention to Lorraine who went the extra mile when I’d left my jacket in the bar!!! Thanks all. See you again soon, Ross

I stay in a lot of Holiday Inn's when away with work, and in general, they're usually pretty rubbish. A bit of an exception at Preston though. Nice modern room on the 6th floor. It was clean, which isn't always a given, sockets by the bed, decent room service menu, friendly welcome, and onsite parking. Probably the best H.I I've stayed at, where they've got the basics right, which is what lets a lot of other hotels down.

The hotel does have excellent staff at the reception and bar / restaurant. They all very customer focussed and extremely friendly. Specially Art Adeel and Max at the bar become friends. It was funny to have a barmanager having my name.

We stayed in Preston in order for us to travel down to Liverpool for the night of the Eurovision final 2023. Very easy access to the motorway, pleasant rooms with comfortable beds, friendly staff and excellent breakfast. Highly recommended.

Booked a room for a last minute trip up north to visit family. Booked a standard room and was told there were only twins left on arrival.

I checked in at 10pm on a Thursday night and hadn't prepared for the parking being full. As a lone woman in preston I wasn't thrilled about the £4 parking that I was offered at the bus station but had little choice. The hotel parking spots are on the rooftop of the car park (floor 9) and the stairwell shuts at 10pm so I ended up having to walk down the car park ramps in the dark on my own. Slightly daunting but the walk accross from bus station was short. Just be prepared that you might have a little walk from parking so I would suggest to drop off bags beforehand. When I re-read the website it said parking is limited so just be aware that they're not lying 😄

Hotel itself is modern and well kept. Very clean and was impressed with the size of the room, even for a standard twin. As I was on my own, it was all I needed. Tea and coffee making facilities and bourbon biscuits (the BEST biscuits - if only I wasn't gluten free 😢) were good.

I noticed that pizza could be ordered even at 10.30pm so that would be great for travellers arriving late, like me.

I was on the 4th floor and it was easy to get to by lift or stairs (I did a bit of both) and all the staff I came across seemed friendly and welcoming.

Bathroom was nice and clean and shower curtain had poppers so that it could be removed and washed- all kept in really good condition. Dirty shower curtains are a bug bear of mine but it was all spotless in there.

Really impressed with the ease of access (other than the parking blip) and the quality and cleanliness of the hotel.

Would definitely return with husband or family! Thank you for a convenient and enjoyable stay.
