I am a member of the leisure club within this hotel and have been for over a year now. The staff are all great and really helpful- always happy to help with any questions I have. I find the classes have really helped with my fitness level and general well being especially the yoga class which I am a huge fan of
A special mention should also go to Dave - this guy knows his stuff and has helped me so much with hints and tips on how to make my work outs more effective but most of all with a positive attitude which makes arriving to do a session so much easier.

Stayed for one night whilst on business, the hotel was easy to find, check in was simple and the room was a good size with everything you’d expect.
Can’t fault the staff, all very friendly and helpful (special shout out to the night staff who had to deal with a fire alarm at midnights, and did so with the upmost professionalism).
The only fault I had was with the breakfast, for £10, I expected better quality, more choice and for it to be hot food, I think it had been there so long and that was the reason it went cold.
The gym, pool and jacuzzi are also very good, all id add is take a water bottle with you as they don’t sell any.
I would return.

Stayed overnight as attending a wedding at the hotel. The guy working at reception that checked us in was really friendly. Room was on 2nd floor, some of the room we found a bit dated like the bathroom and the wardrobes but TV was great plus the bed was so comfy. Room was clean too. Breakfast was enjoyable, staff friendly and helpful there too. If having toast, only put the bread through the toaster once!
Room was so warm even with heating off but felt the areas on the ground floor were cold.
Staff throughout the wedding were great from the ceremony to the meal to the reception.
As just off the M61, it was easy to find.
Drinks are expensive which you do tend to find in hotels, buy a bottle for your room before you arrive!

Had an important business lunch at the Mercure today. Staff were extremely helpful and could not do enough to ensure that both myself and our business friends were well looked after.

A member of staff that stood out as being excellent was Irene. I am delighted in the the high standards that she promoted together with her professionalism.

The rooms are comfortable and clean. The service is friendly.
The bar and restaurant are basic and not too comfortable for my taste. The breakfast lacks vegan options.
But for a business trip this hotel is more than adequate.

I stayed at this hotel almost 18 years ago and it was quite a deluxe place, expensive & a little exclusive. The gym/pool membership used to be quite expensive too.
I was surprised to find that the rooms were a bit cheaper than my previous stay but the place is now owned by Mercure.
The car park was full of pot holes and it all looked a little tired from the outside. The reception area was nice & the staff were lovely. To be honest the rooms were a little bit like a travelodge. Clean, but the bed was hard, an old poor shower was over the bath and it wasn’t great & the radiator was blasting out horrendous heat. I had to get maintenance to turn it off as the thermostat was broken. The very nice guy at reception gave me a fan for the evening as it was too late to get anyone out to fix it the previous night.
Breakfast was nice, the staff were so helpful but it was all just a bit tired. I think 3 stars is an accurate summation. It’s saving grace really was the staff.

We stopped over at this hotel as part of a journey up to Scotland.
We arrived late at midnight and were greeted by friendly hotel staff, slept well and then were off again the next day.
The hotel was really easy to find from the motorway.

The bedrooms are clean but are starting to look a little tired and dated.
The corridors are generally the same.
The restaurant is a little on the expensive side but there are lots of alternatives within walking distance.
Car park is very small for size of hotel.

This hotel is a regular stopover for me! The average score is supposed to reflect the straightforward "you know what your getting nature" of the hotel!
The staff are all polite and efficient!
The small gym has 3cardio machines and a couple of weight machines, just enough to keep the cobwebs at bay! The rooms are nice, the odd blip, a dodgy window shutter or broken lamp, but never anything major and ALWAYS clean in my experience!
I like the buffet breakfast it has everything you could want. (Although the mushrooms could do with a bit of a better scrub)
Dinner is always good, it doesn't taste like the microwave fodder you can get elsewhere!
The carpark is tiny! Go straight into the bus station car park (up the ramp, then first right up another short ramp and there are a load of holiday inn spaces there. you'll have to pay reception £4 for a 24hour exemption card when you check in; then walk back across to the car park to put it in your car)
A good place for a nights sleep!

After what seemed like a terrible weekend, our initial hotel in Ormskirk had fallen through, me and my boyfriend thought we'd road trip and see where we end up. We had travelled only 55 mins from blackpool and ended up at Preston, ring road. We parked up in the car park, albeit small, we still go a space. We walked in the hotel lobby it was clean and smelt fresh. Upstairs we found the reception after asking how much for a room £60 Inc breakfast, or just £50 without. We thought this was great. We booked in and was given a key card for our room on the 5th floor. We got to our room and the view over Preston was brilliant. My boyfriend and I stood there for about ten mins watching the world go by. My boyfriend who is a tad ocd, checked everywhere for dirt or any type of uncleanness - nothing! Yeah the bathroom is small but it was enough for one night. All the staff were so nice and helpful given us tips on which restaurants are better than others and giving us directions. I can happily say this is the best budget hotel I have stayed in! The facilities in the room were good. There was tea and coffee making facilities and extra shampoo and conditioner if you'd forgotten! The TV was freeview but you couldn't actually see what channel you was on you had to guess. The bed was sooo comfy, the pillows were made to your liking!!

If you enjoy simple pleasures then this hotel is perfect for you. Enjoy and I hope this helps. :-)
